Comments: Visiting in memory of my Dad-Cpt. John S. Seeley. He was

the first pilot KIA in Vietnam from the 178th "Boxcars" who were

the sister unit to the 147th until the 178th redeployed to Chu Lai

in I Corps in April 1967. Dad was killed on 6-27-66 when his

CH-47 crashed through trees in/near the Iron Triangle. He wrote home

of the deaths of 147th pilots John Eddy and George Clarke on 5-4-66.

Dad had served with John Eddy in Korea in 1961-62. If you knew or served

with "Big John" please e-mail me...your site looks

great Mr. Brown!

Comments: Great website! Was in the 147th in Vung Tao from late 66 to early 67. Spent the remainder of my scenic tour in Bearcat with the 200th.

Was on a maintenance crew... never had the nerve to fly on those things (too many moving parts). I remember the one that went down and the grenade accident while at Vung Tao. Keep on Truckin!
